A CARING Dumfries pharmacist assistant has been awarded the Senior Guid Nychbur award.
Angela Corbett, who works at Murrays Pharmacy in the town, was nominated by workmates for her “neighbourly qualities”.
She was presented with the award by Guid Nychburris Association chairman John Cassie. He said: “Angela’s strength is her interest in people. She loves to find out about folk and their lives, making each customer feel individual. Her ability to remember everyones name and details is remarkable and truly valued by all she makes feel special.
“However, her neighbourly qualities extend much further than this. Regularly she leaves work with her backpack stacked full – not with shopping but with prescriptions she’s identified she could deliver to those who may struggle to visit the pharmacy. She has a mindful eye on her neighbours without being intrusive and regardless of the circumstance would never see anyone hungry or go without if she could avoid it.”
After receiving the award, Angela was lost for words. She said: “I’m speechless. It was very unexpected that’s why I’m speechless. Thanks you so much for this.”
