Anna Sloan this week announced her exit from Team Muirhead, the same team that she helped bring home a bronze Olympic medal, World Championships gold and bronze and European Championships medals galore. Announcing her departure from the squad, she said: “Curling has been my life for the last ten years and the time feels right to explore other things. “I leave with the best memories and I am looking forward to the next chapter. “It’s been a privilege to play with Team Muirhead and I wish the girls all the best for the upcoming season. I am very lucky to have the best family and friends that have been there for me and supported me throughout and I thank them very much.” Meanwhile, Vicki Chalmers (nee Adams) and Lauren Gray both remain on the team with skip Eve Muirhead. The new recruits are Jennifer Dodds and Vicky Wright, who have both left Team Fleming, which has now disbanded, to make up the numbers. Team Fleming released an official statement this week on their dissolution. Skip Hannah Fleming, of Lockerbie, said: “Jen and Vicky have been given a brilliant opportunity to play with Team Muirhead and we wish them all the best in their new challenge. “For now, Alice and myself are taking a step back from the British Curling programme, but hope to compete for fun in national events throughout the season.”
