ANNAN Art Club are hosting an open day to let community members into their fold tomorrow afternoon.
Running from noon to 4 pm, the open day is free to attend. Members of the club will be there with samples of their work and materials, and they will answer any questions people have about joining the group.
Annan Art Club was founded by 17 members on March 13 1967, and has remained active for over 55 years.
While it was originally a seasonal club that met from October to March, covid severely inhibited club activities for the past few years and now they meet weekly in a new venue at Kate’s Kitchen.
Club member Fiona Peel said: “We are a friendly, sociable group and hope that we bring something to the wider community. We intend running our own exhibitions from time to time, and we already exhibit at Annan Museum on a bi-annual basis.
“Some of our group were novice artists and they have developed their skills over a period of time. It’s fair to say at this point that we are not a teaching group, however we do help one another.
“Our current membership is 16 plus a couple of honorary members. We have room for more members and this is why we are promoting the club with an open day.”
