Annan police in third sneak theft warning

ANOTHER sneak theft has taken place in Annan — despite repeated warnings to the public to secure their properties.

The theft of a considerable sum of cash took place last Friday evening.
Sgt Steven Wilson at Annan Police Station said: “Despite all the efforts of the media and police attention, on Friday between 8 pm and 9.30 pm a quantity of cash was stolen from a house in Fruids Park Avenue, Annan.
“Entry was gained through an unsecured kitchen door and a plain black purse and a quantity of cash was stolen.”
He added: “Initial enquiries indicate that a man was seen wearing a head torch and holding another torch, wearing a hooded top and jogging bottoms, seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time.”
Police have repeatedly stressed the importance of securing homes and vehicles, after a series of thefts in the Annan area in recent weeks.
Sgt Wilson said: “If you leave your valuable properties unsecured people will come in and steal them.”
