WHILE the Raft Race was the centre of attention at the Everholm on Sunday, the Annan Harbour Rowers were out getting some last minute practice further down the river.
For next week they will be racing every day at the Skiffie World Championships in Stranraer, where more than 79 crews from all over Scotland and the rest of the world will gather to compete.
The Annan crews will be resplendent in new tops sponsored by Annandale Distillery, while Pride of Annan has been repainted in the club colours courtesy of Carrs Billington.
Some members competed six years ago when the championship was last in Scotland, others three years ago in Holland, but for some some this will be their first major competition.
There are classes for all age groups and the 14 strong Annan team will be competing in 12 different categories.
