FILMING is taking place on a second Lockerbie disaster drama series.
The six-parter is being made by World Productions for the BBC and Netflix.
And the cast was named this week and features a mix of British and American stars, including Connor Swindells, Patrick J. Adams, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan and Phyllis Logan.
The series is based on the real events surrounding the 1988 bombing, in which 270 people died, and the joint Scots-US investigation which sought to bring the perpetrators to justice.
‘Lockerbie’ will focus on the investigation into the crash on both sides of the Atlantic and the devastating effect it had on the small town and the families who lost loved ones. It will go right up to the most recent indictment at the end of 2022.
It is produced by Julia Stannard and directed by Michael Keillor and the project was initiated by filmmaker Adam Morane-Griffiths, whose research includes extensive interviews with Scottish police officers and representatives from United States investigative agencies.
Filming has begun in Scotland and will continue in both Malta and Toronto.
