THIEVES have made off with an array of musical instruments from a house in Dumfries.

Four violins with a value of nearly £5500, a mandolin valued at around £800 and a banjo valued at around £600 were all stolen in the raid in Dalbeattie Road.
One of the violins dates back to 1890 and another to 1940, and both these violins are French in origin.
The break-in took place sometime between Monday May 4 and Friday May 8.
