A NEW market aiming to bring vibrancy back to Dumfries town centre begins next month.
The Stove Network in collaboration with Dumfries Partnership Action Group have created the ‘Market of Possibility’.
Throughout July and August, the Market of Possibility will be taking over a former retail unit in the Loreburne Centre in Dumfries, offering a new and interactive space, where people can visit free of charge, get creative and share their visions for the future of Dumfries.
Locals, tourists and visitors are invited to delve into a world of grassroots campaigns, electrifying projects, and inspiring initiatives, as Artistic director at The Stove Network, Martin O’Neill explained: “The Market of Possibility is inspired by all the community-led initiatives The Stove has supported through our Open Hoose project over the last two years, as well as providing a platform for the innovative work happening with other town centre enterprises and initiatives. Part studio, part playground, part laboratory, the space will combine imagination and play in an immersive and thought-provoking space designed to ignite new ideas and nurture ambitions, ideas, and possibilities for the future of our town.”
The Market of Possibility will open on July 13 and will run until the end of August. For more information go to thestove.org/market-of-possibility/.
