ANOTHER strong second half showing helped Annan Athletic to their third League One away win of the season on Saturday.
A second half brace from Tommy Muir and a strike from new signing Aaron Brown helped the Black and Golds come from behind at New Central Park to beat Kelty Hearts 3-1.
The Maroon Machine took the lead when Queen’s Park loanee Liam McLeish made a smart run in behind the Annan backline before rifling the ball into the far corner.
Kelty made a quick start to the second period as the pacey McLeish threatened once more. His driven strike from the edge of the area stung the palms of Jamie Smith.
However, it was not long before Annan were back on level terms.
Tommy Muir chased down a weak back pass. And when Kelty goalie Ruairidh Adams went to clear the ball it cannoned off the Annan striker and flew into the net.
And soon after Paul Smith’s resulting wicked delivery was nodded home by Muir, who claimed his seventh of the season.
Annan then added a third with just over 20 minutes to play. From a corner, Muir’s header was cleared off the line but the ball fell perfectly for Kilmarnock loanee Brown who smashed it into the net.
