SCHOOLS across Dumfries and Galloway will be taking part in all sorts of World Book Day events this Friday.
And 400 classes have signed up to a special meet the author session, run by Wigtown Festival Company.
Children from Wigtown and Kirkcowan Primary School will take part in person, and hundreds more around the region will be there via live streaming to meet author Mike Nicholson.
He is launching his brand new picture book, My Granny Went to Scotland, and sharing his Museum Mystery Squad series, with tales ranging from moving mammoths to vanishing Vikings; and the mystery adventure Catscape for older children.
