DUMFRIES and Devorgilla Rotary Club presented two of their Rotarians with a Paul Harris Fellow Award earlier this week.
Charles Schooling and Andrew Clark got an early gift for the festive season.
Both are long standing members of the 20-year-old club and Charles was president in 2006-2007.
Paul Percy Harris, a Chicago attorney, is best known for founding Rotary International in 1905 that has expanded throughout the world and currently has well over 1.1 million members worldwide.
In 1957 the Paul Harris Fellows programme was established to show appreciation for outstanding service above self.
Awards are made to Rotarians who are deemed by their club to have made outstanding contributions. Since 2002 Devorgilla Rotary has successfully carried out fundraising events across the region and have raised in excess of £150,000 for local causes.
The club continue to provide service to local and international communities including their recently successful pop-up charity shop and assistance for refugees from the Ukraine war.
