Barbers create a buzz in town

THERE’S a ‘buzz’ in Lockerbie this week ...thanks to two men called Gary and Barry.

Barber Gary Lewis, 27, officially opened the Who’s Next? Barber Shop on Tuesday.

Trained by celebrity barbers Diego Elizarraras and Sid Suttongs, Essex native Gary wanted to provide Lockerbie with a hip and stylish creative barbering service and put the town on the style map.

Owner Gary said: “Coming from a strong hairdressing background, I am able to merge my hairdressing and barbering skills and techniques together to offer clients a unique hair style.

“Barbering is a growing industry and I want to become a leader in the profession and bring more people into Lockerbie.

“I’ve already established myself as a creative barber who can help people get the look they are hoping to achieve and I want to expand on this.”

And he and boyfriend Barry Taylor, 32, the shop’s business manager, have big visions for the future.

Barry said: “We want to create a popular local business which we can eventually expand and create employment and training opportunities for the town.”

And the couple have not ruled out eventually turning Who’s Next? into a franchise and opening more shops throughout the region.
