VOTING is now underway to choose the finalists of a Christmas carol singing competition.

Battling to make the big sing-off at Gretna Gateway on Sunday December 11 are:
Cargenbridge Primary – Away in a Manger
Crossmichael Primary – Good Christian Men Rejoice
Eastriggs Primary – Away in a Manger
Hottsbridge Primary – Once in Royal David’s City
Langholm Primary – Silent Night
Laurieknowe Primary – Deck the Halls
Lockerbie Primary – Silent Night
Loreburn Primary – Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Nethermill Primary – Silent Night
Tundergarth Primary – Good Christian Men Rejoice
The ultimate winner will scoop the top prize of £500, plus a special Xmas Factor trophy and there’s also £50 for each of the four runners-up.
Voting for the finalists runs until midnight on Sunday through the West Sound website, www.westsoundradio.com and the results will be revealed on the radio on Tuesday morning.
Lisa McNab, from Gretna Gateway said: “Listening to the Xmas Factor entries is always a real festive treat and we hope as many people as possible will log onto the website to hear the top ten carols and vote for the school they think should make it through to the grand final in December.
“The children and teachers from all the participating schools have obviously worked incredibly hard and have produced performances that we think will delight everyone who hears them.”
