The Doonhamers have improved over the past few weeks and are trying to mount a challenge up the top of the League One standings.
That was helped with another home victory over Inverness during the week but Murphy wants his players to keep their feet on the ground.
Murphy said: “Our home form has been excellent but we can’t get too excited and ahead of ourselves because we’ve got Dumbarton who are fighting for their lives.
“We know in this division that some strange results come up. Everybody is beating everybody.
“We’re on a nice little run at the moment but our confidence cannot turn into arrogance.
“We have to approach each game the same and see where that takes us.
“We’re in a good position at the moment but Saturday is going to be tough.
“We’ve got to make sure everyone is right, at it and we’ve got everybody available.”
The last time Queens faced Dumbarton ended in last minute heartbreak for them.
After Kyle Doherty levelled, an old face came back to haunt Murphy when ex-Annan midfielder Tony Wallace netted a last minute penalty to claim the points.
Murphy added: “Tony came off the bench last time for Dumbarton and scored the winner against us.
“I’ve had players come back and score against me and he is one of them but he hasn’t been playing for them recently.
“He better not do it again!”
Murphy also discussed the entertaining midweek 3-2 victory over Inverness.
It was an attacking performance that some Queens fans had been shouting out for.
Adam Brooks netted twice whilst super-sub Jordan Allan notched the winner for the Doonhamers.
Murphy said: “It was an excellent game of football with both sides going at it. I would’ve liked to have taken more of our chances but the fact we’re creating a good number of opportunities is excellent.
“We’ve said earlier in the season we were depleted of strikers. But in the past two games we’ve saw Brennan Dickenson score against St Mirren, Adam net two against Inverness and Jordan coming off the bench and scoring the winner. That fills us with a little bit of confidence.
“If we can keep those players fit and the way we are playing then I’m sure we’ll take more of these chances.”
And Murphy cleared up any confusion as to why his players were left seething at Inverness’ second half leveller.
He said: “A free-kick came into the box and there were a group of players who jumped. We felt their centre back was pulling Matty Douglas down.
“The ball drops down with their centre back getting a shot away which Ross Stewart saves and their other player follows in.
“We thought it was a free-kick but we showed character to forget about that and score the winner.”
Meanwhile, Murphy stated that they are talking to a couple of players but would depend on others going out.
During the week, Kieran McKechnie and Charlie Cowie departed whilst youngsters Ben Johnstone and Niall Rogerson have been loaned out.
Murphy added: “We’re still trying to do a bit of business behind the scenes.
“We’re speaking to a couple of players but that might hinge on players going out.”
