WORK to create a swimming pool in Beattock is set to commence in a matter of weeks.

And, subject to planning consent, Moffat Manor Holiday Park will open their pool and leisure centre at Christmas.
The park is also continuing to boost local employment, with 15 new posts already filled and more due to be advertised.
The swimming pool and leisure complex is part of a £1.5 million investment by Richmond Wrights Estates, the firm which bought over the formerly bankrupt park last year, and will be open to everyone in the area.
Having recently opened its new clubhouse and held an open day for the community, Moffat Manor Holiday Park have announced their plans for the next six months of the year, which include starting work on their new swimming pool and leisure centre.
Making use of an existing building to the rear of the park, the swimming pool and leisure centre will also include a cafe bar.
National sales director for Richmond Wright Estates Danny McInnes said: “Subject to planning, work will commence on the new leisure centre in approximately eight weeks time, with an estimated completion time of Christmas 2015.
“We’re really excited about going onto to phase two of our improvements here at Moffat Manor. The feedback we have had since we opened the new clubhouse has been extremely positive.”
And he added: “The children’s play area has been very well received as has the layout of the new clubhouse, as well as our new shop and reception area.”
Mr McInnes also announced that Moffat Manor would have a 12-month season for its holiday homes.
He said: “We’re going to be open all year round.
“The new facilities on site are a vital part of creating a new sustainable future for Moffat Manor.”
