Big band ticket offer for young musicians

YOUNG musicians across the region are being invited to attend a big band spectacular in Gretna on December 10.

Taking place at All Saints Church, 35 promotional tickets are being offered to young up and coming talent.

The concert will be hosted by Manchester-based 17 piece DGKollective, and features vocalist Ariane Mamon. A variety of styles ranging from swing classics, pop, TV and film soundtracks, festive songs and Latin and Afro-Cuban ditties will be played.

DGK director Andrew Turnbull said: “This is a chance for young musicians to see a big band up close, which they may never have done before.

“The band has some great musicians from the Northwest of England to the borders and Glasgow.

“Furthermore, they are invited to attend the rehearsal on the afternoon of the concert, if they wish to come along from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

“I am keen to see young musicians get involved with the big band scene, hence the promotional offer.

“I would particularly like to hear from secondary school students who are studying music and musical instruments at school, as they have the most to gain from this experience.”

Anyone interested in the offer should contact Kollectivity at info@kollectivity.com for details on how to purchase the promotional tickets for just £1.
