There will be a free afternoon of family activities and cake on Sunday from 12-4 pm. Youngsters will enjoy painting sessions, decorating party hats, taking part in an art hunt and getting their face painted. And there will also be music from the Clarsach Society a folklore storytelling session and celebration of Kirkcudbright’s artistic and mythical history by author, poet and storyteller Tony Bonning.
Councillor Andy Ferguson congratulated the venue and said: “The Kirkcudbright Galleries is approaching its first birthday and has added to Kirkcudbright’s tourism value and continues to support the local community in the last year. Since its opening last year to this April, the Galleries has welcomed 56,671 people through its doors which is a testament to the success of the gallery and our council’s investment in the project.<\!p> <\!p><\!p> “Long may it continue.”
