Black and Gold Foundation benefits from Chapelcross funding

Lots of new training equipment has been purchased by the Black and Gold Foundation at Annan Athletic. It will be used to help all age groups at the club with their training and match day practice.

The Black and Golds had submitted an application to NRSs socio-economic fund asking for funding to help with new training resources as the kit that they had was dated and there was not enough to facilitate sessions for the growing number of boys taking part.

And NRS donated 750 to the Black and Golds so that they could buy new training equipment and balls for the team.

Karen Bratton, site integration manager at Chapelcross, went along to Galabank on Monday to meet the coaches and to see the newly purchased equipment being put to good use.

She said: Through our socio-economic fund, we can provide support to local groups and individuals on our doorstep by providing small amounts of funding to help them thrive.

It is great to be able to give something back to the local community. The kids looked delighted with all their new training equipment I hope they are still as happy at the end of their training sessions!
