Blogmas Day 13 - Wrapping presents

MOST people hate wrapping presents.

I have friends who have to do all theirs gradually because they get so frustrated with the task.
Personally I quite enjoy it, even if I’m not very good at it!
If things are square/rectangular I usually manage well.
But give me something irregular and it looks like it has been done by a toddler, but I don’t care.
I love trawling through Pinterest looking at fancy, elaborate ways to decorate presents — one day my gifts will be wrapped in simple brown paper but embellished with glittering yarn, shiny silver bells and pheasant feathers and the hand-made tags will feature perfect cursive writing.
For now I’m happy with my M&S 3for2 paper with matching tags. Written in Biro.
Usually by this time of the year I have started laying presents out under the tree.
But I have a two-and-a-half year old who has developed more than a fascination with the tree.
Hourly he tells me our tree looks perfect, daily he re-arranges the baubles he can reach and one or twice I have caught him pretending to prune the branches with his plastic doctor scissors.
The advent calendar has to be kept out of reach so he doesn’t scoff the entire lot of chocolate.
Keeping presents under there is not a good idea ahead of December 25.
I just know he would have them all unwrapped the minute I step into the shower or make a cup of tea.
All the gifts I have bought so far are still in the attic room. Unwrapped.
I just haven’t found the time. And the lack of a nice glass of mulled wine hasn’t really spurred me on.
