Blogmas Day 9 - Beauty treatments

IF you are female the preparations for the office Christmas party start well in advance.

Hair cut and colour, the perfect outfit, skin treatments, manicures, pedicures . . . the list goes on.
Securing a December hair appointment is something that must be considered in about September, especially if you work typical office hours.
Thankfully the trend for balayage means my hair only needs done every 12 weeks so I’ve been sorted for a while!
A total of four dresses have been purchased and three have been sent back.
The red was rejected, the dark blue was dumped and the green was flung across the room.
Black is the new black, right?
So, hair – tick. Dress – tick.
Shoes . . . I have a few pairs of favourites but nothing says ‘party’ quite like gold glitter!
Now time to make myself feel glam.
Again, this starts well before the big day.
It may be the depths of winter but I’m getting my legs out, no tights for me, so careful scrubbing and moisturising is a must.

Summer is a distant memory for my peely-wally legs so I’m faking it with my trusty St Tropez.
My toes won’t be on show (I’ll keep my shoes on no matter how sore my feet get from dancing!) but I still want them to have the party treatment and a deep Christmas red is the perfect colour.

Meanwhile my fingernails have been carefully shaped and painted with on-trend grey polish on four digits and sparkly rose gold on the ring fingers only.

Time for make up.

I’m a creature of habit and tend to stick with what I know works — Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow, Estee Lauder Double Wear, Collection concealer, Rimmel pressed powder, BeneFit Hoola for contour and NARS blush.

The perfect eye shadow for my hooded peepers is a good layer of MAC Mythology —\!q the perfect copper to bring out green eyes — and a bold and daring black eyeliner.
Slather on loads of mascara and I’m done!
