Officers are linking this to the ongoing search for missing man Darren McIntosh, who was reported missing from the town on Thursday August 22.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Darren’s next of kin are aware of this development. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
The procurator fiscal has been informed.
