Book talk with author

CURL up with a good book on Saturday at Wigtown’s Reading Room.

Author Marion McGowan will be doing a presentation about her latest book ‘The Priest’s Pool’.

Set in 1870’s Lanarkshire, the key characters live in both rural and industrial environments. The historical background gives a great foundation for creating a realistic story.

Religion and folklore feature strongly in the tale as do the needs of a community struggling with mining conditions, financial hardship and personal tragedies.

In the midst of all this we have the timeless romance threads which hold a lot of the story together.

Marion’s talk about her book will begin at 1 pm on Saturday in the Reading Room at the back of Wigtown Festival Company’s shop.
