Bowling green views sought
RESIDENTS are being asked to give their opinion on the future of the Donald Sutherland Bowling Green.
Heathhall Community Centre volunteers kept the green maintained and operational until covid hit, with the hall committees providing financial support.
Even with less restrictions, there is uncertainty around people returning to bowling and with increased running costs and lack of volunteers, the committee are now looking for the community’s views on the future of the bowling green.
All residents of Heathhall and interested parties from surrounding areas are welcome to attend a community meeting next week to share ideas as well as to potentially recruit more volunteers.
The meeting will be held on Friday February 25 at 8 pm, in the main hall at Heathhall Community Centre.
For those who still wish to give their views but are unable to attend in person there are a number of options available.
Call 07719046580, email [email protected] or fill out an online survey at https://forms.office.com/r/KutygqAESa.

Behind the scenes on new Lockerbie drama

A NEW series based on parts of the Lockerbie Disaster is now showing on Sky this week. Featuring Colin Firth and Catherine McCormack, ‘A Search for Truth’ was inspired by the memoirs of Dr Jim Swire, who lost his daughter Flora in the 1988 tragedy. Filming took place in Scotland and Morocco in early 2024 and Annandale Herald editor Fiona Reid went on the set to meet the cast and crew and find out more about it.
