TRIBUTES have been made to a brave Annan mum and newlywed who has died of terminal cancer.
Lianne Forster passed away on Monday morning after her second battle with cancer.
The popular 34-year-old first got the news that she had skin cancer in February 2021 and underwent three surgeries and was then given the all clear.
However, the cancer returned last year and Lianne was told it had spread and was incurable.
Following her sad diagnosis, a fundraiser was launched by school friend John Patterson, with a number of people from the town and elsewhere digging deep to raise £11,000 for the family.
Two weeks ago, Lianne thanked the community of Annan and beyond for helping her and husband Craig tie the knot last month and make memories with their two children.
But this week her new husband broke the news of her passing on Facebook.
He said: “This absolute warrior I had the pleasure to call my wife gained her angel wings this morning.
“My soul mate, my forever best friend, put up one hell of a fight and I couldn’t be any prouder of her.
“You are gonna be missed so badly by so many. Forever my Mrs Forster! Love you always forever and even longer than that.”
Hundreds of tributes poured in from family and friends with the common theme that Lianne was an inspiration and had “captured the hearts of everyone”.
Friend Jodie Charters said: “You were a true inspiration to many and fought until the very end.
“Always the life and soul of any party, never without a smile.
“Lots of laughs and giggles over the the last couple of decades.
“I will cherish the memories forever.”
Pal Abbey Walker added: “I’m lucky to have had such an amazing, strong and inspirational friend.”
Jamie Anderson added: “I would like to to send my condolences to Craig, the kids and family and friends of this wee trooper.
“She was definitely one of life’s treasures and it was a privilege to have grown up with you, sleep tight wee angel.
“You have definitely captured the hearts of everyone in the town with your brave fight.”
