Brawl in High Street sparks police appeal

A BRAWL in the centre of Dumfries High Street in the early hours of Saturday morning has sparked a police enquiry.

Police Scotland are investigating a disturbance which took place near to the Burtons store at about 3.15 am on Saturday 22 April 2017.
At that time a group of six to eight males were seen to have been fighting in the street.
As a result of the disturbance, two males sustained minor injuries to their heads and bodies and both required treatment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Police have issued descriptions of five males they are seeking.
The first was wearing dark jacket, navy jeans and dark hair while a second was wearing a blue jacket, dark jeans and white trainers.
A third make was wearing a grey jumper and dark trousers, a fourth was wearing a black top and blue jeans and a fifth was wearing a dark top, blue jeans and black shoes.
PC Lawrence Nelson said: “I am keen to hear from anyone that was in the area at the time and may be able to identify this group or knows who is responsible.
“Anyone with information can contact Dumfries Police Station on the 101 number.”
