And this week they held an open event with the team outlining how they can help new customers with accounts.
Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell dropped in too to find out more about operations at the three-day-a-week High Street office.
He also had a meeting with cluster branch manager Ryan McCubbin.
The MP said: “I’m grateful to the Cumberland for their commitment to keep an office in Lockerbie as long as it remains viable to do so and believe that it provides a convenient alternative option for local people who prefer face-to-face banking.
“Although a building society, the Cumberland offers the full range of services, including digital banking that would be available at branches of large national and international banks. They currently see a good future for their Lockerbie branch although that, of course, depends on customer support.”
Mr Mundell also pointed out that certain other banking facilities remain available at Post Office branches.
