The online event will be based at The Bridge, where judges and adjudicators will watch videoed entries and pick their winners.
Joint convenor Fiona Evans said: “We were extremely disappointed to not be able to hold our face to face competition but wanted to ensure the format was as close to what we would normally have, and are excited about being able to hold the competition this year, albeit differently.
“The response from the region’s schools, teachers and parents has been unbelievable with over 160 videos uploaded. This shows the huge support we have in the region for our competition and the works of Robert Burns and Scots Poetry, which we are delighted about.”
Trophies will be presented at a later date.
