Business awards win is dream come true for Naomi

A FINANCIAL and insurance advisor from Annan was a winner at the Female Business Awards.

Naomi Smith, founder of Saltire Financial Ltd, won the professional services category and picked up her award at a gala evening in Manchester, which she attended with husband Colin.

She said: “The feeling of finally being recognised for all my achievements, efforts and successes in such a short space of time in business, is completely surreal.

“To hear my firm called out loud as the winner was something I have only dreamed of. This is only the beginning.”

Entrepreneur Naomi, who is also a key note speaker, says she aims to make insurance “relatable and sexy” and ensures conversations around death, critical illness and sickness or injury are safe and approachable.

She is still buzzing after her victory and added: “The event was organised with top precision and we were extremely grateful to be a part of it, never mind walk away as a winner!”

Female Business Awards co-host Janine Friston said: “Our vision with the Female Business Awards is to recognise and celebrate those female-led small businesses who are often forgotten about in other awards.

“Female business owners often set up and run their businesses around other responsibilities, such as younger children, and so desire and need the flexibility that running their own business can provide. Being able to showcase some of these amazing business owners is fantastic.”

Naomi hopes to use her win as a springboard in her business, to reach new audiences and be able to support more people as a result.
