A BUSINESS boom took place in Scotland over the last year with more companies registered than in any year previously- and Dumfries and Galloway also felt the benefit.

There were 34,711 companies registered nationally during 2015 – 334 of them in this region.
This brings the total number of businesses in Scotland to 213,480, according to the figures compiled by www.informdirect.co.uk.
