UPDATE: MP retains Cabinet post

DUMFRIESSHIRE MP David Mundell has kept his Cabinet position.

Mr Mundell, who is pictured at 10 Downing Street with new Conservative Party leader — and Prime Minister — Theresa May and Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson, MSP, will retain his coveted Scotland Secretary role.

The Dumfries and Galloway man, who lives in Moffat, was an early supporter of Mrs May in the leadership race.

The only Scottish Conservative MP, Mr Mundell has served as Scotland Secretary since 2015 under former Prime Minister David Cameron and attended Mr Cameron’s  final Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
