AN Annan cafe’s fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness month has raised £1600 for Cancer Research.

Back in October, The Cafe Royal was adorned with banners, bras and balloons in the hopes of encouraging passers-by and their customers to check themselves for signs of breast cancer.

It was decided that any proceeds made from deliveries would be going to Breast Cancer Awareness Charity. Meanwhile, people also started popping in to donate. And owners John and Michael Pagani agreed to match every donation received.

John this week said: “It’s grand. The money is made up of £800 from the delivery charges, while £400 was donated – Michael and I matched the donations.

“It’s been overwhelming. The idea was to raise awareness, but people started coming and dropping money in. To get that sort of cash is great.”
