CREATIVES in the region are being urged to get involved in a new research project.

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) is looking to find out more about how it can support the creative and cultural sector in Dumfries and Galloway.

And businesses, employers, and freelancers working in the sector are being invited to complete an online questionnaire about their current activity, as well as their views on how the sector can be supported to flourish.

Through the research, being undertaken by consultants EKOS on behalf of SOSE, the agency is looking to improve its understanding of the current state of the sector locally.

SOSE chief executive Jane Morrison-Ross said: “The cultural and creative sector has a crucial role to play in supporting our vision of the South of Scotland as a centre of opportunity, innovation and growth.

“We want to support the sector to thrive, celebrating and enabling creativity and making the most of our regional strengths.

“The findings will help our work over the next few years, including what kind of support is required to help the sector recover from the impact of the pandemic, as well meeting new challenges and opportunities, such as the journey to Net Zero.”

The online survey is open now until Monday 28 February.

Freelancers and sole traders can complete it at online1.snapsurveys.com/SOSEfreelance, while businesses and creative organisations should go to online1.snapsurveys.com/SOSEbusiness.
