Woggle Jogle: Camp stop for walking scouts
WOGGLE JOGLE . . . young members of the Eastleigh Scouts alongside leaders and members of St. Ann's Scout Camp in Lockerbie

A GROUP of Scouts undertaking a massive fundraising walk across the UK stopped off in Annandale.

Their route goes from John O’Groats to Land’s End and is titled “The Great Woggle JOGLE” and is raising money for BBC Children in Need and to help build a new Scout Activity Centre and HQ in Eastleigh.

The six passed through Lockerbie last week and stayed overnight at the St Ann’s Scout Campsite. While there, they were met by district president Fred Sewell, campsite warden Ian Mitchell, badge secretary Janice Sewell, and local beaver leader Mariann Mitchell.

A warming fire was lit for the group so they could stave off the rainy evening and have some hot drinks by the campfire and everyone enjoyed exchanging stories.

Anyone interested in becoming joining scouting, either as a Beavers, Cub, Scout or volunteer, should contact Mariann on [email protected] or call 07845033654.
