EVENTS across the region have been cancelled as sign of respect for the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Following the death of the Queen yesterday, numerous events including the historical reenactment at Gilnockie Tower, a teddy bear festival in Moffat , as well as the Spitfire flypast over Moffat and numerous sport fixtures locally have been cancelled or postponed as the nation enters the official mourning period.
Some events will be going ahead this weekend and in the coming weeks, such as the Annan Harbour Festival on Saturday and the Multicultural Ball at the Easterbrook Hall on Saturday September 19.
