Car firm helps put the pride into Dumfries

BUYING a car over the next five weeks could help turn Dumfries into a better place to live in.

For a unique scheme involving car dealers Grierson and Graham and Dumfries Civic Pride could have huge impact on the town.
Until the end of September, Grierson and Graham Honda will donate £100 to the group for every Honda that they sell.
The car dealership in Annan Road, Dumfries which celebrated 100 years of business in 2011, has had an on-going partnership with Dumfries Civic Pride.
David Graham said: “We’re delighted to be involved with Dumfries Civic Pride. We have been involved over the years but not on this scale.
“If things go as planned then the group could benefit fairly substantially.
He added: “A number of events are planned for next year, which will include support for a schools competition.
“We could be talking about a lot of money with this project but it really depends on how many new Civics are sold.”
Grierson and Graham are also one of the longest serving Honda dealers in the UK.
Dumfries Civic Pride is made up of a group of volunteers who try to keep the town attractive for residents and visitors.
