Caravan crash

TWO lanes of the motorway were closed late on Tuesday afternoon when a caravan jack-knifed.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway just near Ecclefechan.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 4.15 pm on Tuesday, 26 January, officers were called to the M74 near junction 19, following a report of a vehicle jack-knifed on the road.

“There have been no injuries reported.”

The road was blocked for only a short time while the caravan and vehicle were recovered.

The spokesman added: “The occupants of the vehicle were traced nearby and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
