Care home’s inspection delight
THE team and residents at a Dumfries care home are celebrating after a glowing Care Inspectorate report. Allanbank Care Home received stand-out ‘very good’ ratings – the second highest mark out of six – in its recent report following an unannounced inspection, for how well the team support people’s wellbeing, and how good the setting is. Residents and their loved ones had high praise for the devoted team, describing them as: “‘fantastic”, “kind” and “very gentle” with another saying “I love the staff here, we have a laugh and a joke together”. Other comments included: “I feel safe, valued and listened to” and “staff are really helpful and caring…they support me well and keep me safe.” Another highlight of the report was the varied and meaningful experiences the residents enjoy, which greatly enhanced their wellbeing. Another stand-out area was the quality of the home, which was described as being of a “high standard”, “warm and welcoming”. Another resident revealed how the Allanbank, in Bankend Road, felt “like family.” Home manager Sandra McNay, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our latest report, which reflects the genuine devotion of our team to enriching the lives of our residents every single day. “Hearing our residents and their families describe Allanbank as being like family to them means the world to us. “We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our wonderful residents, their loved ones and our dedicated team for making Allanbank such a special place to live and work.”
