A NEW strategy to support carers to continue to care in good health and wellbeing, and to lead their own life whilst caring is being developed for Dumfries and Galloway.

Nine per cent of people living locally care for someone and 29 per cent of carers provide over 50 hours of unpaid care every week.
And unpaid carers are one of the top ten priority areas identified within Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership’s Strategic Plan for 2016-2019.
As such, a survey has been launched to find out what matters most to them.
Carers of all ages are being encouraged to take part and give their views – anonymously.
It goes live on Monday at www.dg-change.org.uk and will run until October 31.
The results will be used to support and shape the new strategy.
