Chairman’s job for Chris

THE Institute of Directors Scotland has appointed Chris Emmerson as its new chair to lead the South of Scotland branch.

Chris is head of customer delivery at British Gas – where he has been part of the business for 17 years – and brings a wealth of management experience to the role.

He has experience in the southern region, where he has been a manager for around a decade.

At British Gas, Chris’ career has been driven by continued personal growth and professional development and he wants to use his new role to support even more business leaders to nurture their own talent.

He said: “My own career has been driven by an employer and business who recognised its own talent, and provided opportunities, training and support its team members to develop.

“Stepping into the role of branch chair will provide an opportunity for me to share my passion for great governance and professional development.

“The South of Scotland has a diverse business landscape, and the branch hub will provide a space for discussion and collaboration, with a focus on building even better directors and businesses in the region.”
