A series of events are set to be held in Crocketford next week, hosted by South Scotland MSP Colin Smyth.
The events are part of the ‘meet the team’ series in which residents of the area can meet the designers working on the new A75 bypasses. The sessions will be at the village hall on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 12 to 7 pm each day.
People can speak to members of Transport Scotland’s team and the technical advisors to answer questions on design or assessment work.
“We seem to have made more progress in the last few months when it comes to the A75 than was made in the last two decades thanks to the recent funding from the new UK Government for feasibility studies into upgrading this crucial link,” said Colin Smyth.
Smyth expresses his frustrations with the two-year timeline but understands that it must be done the proper way to make up for the long overdue project. He describes this project as a “glimmer of hope” for the future of Scotland.
