Chance to meet new GP team

A SERIES of in-person meetings will take place later this month between patients and the new team taking on the responsibility for providing GP services in Lockerbie and Moffat.

An open invitation has been issued to the public in both towns to go along.

It follows a virtual session in February which introduced the new team and helped address initial questions about plans for GP services.

Head of primary care services Linda Bunney said: “Over 120 people attended the virtual event on February 10, and at that time we mentioned the desire by the new GP team to meet with communities in person.

“We’re pleased to say that in-person meetings have been scheduled in Leadhills and Moffat on Monday March 28, and in Lockerbie on Tuesday March 29.

“Consideration has been given to covid and distancing, with people being asked to register that they would like to attend, and to identify which of the three locations best suits them.

“These meetings will offer a chance for the new team to meet patients in-person, as they look to continue to foster close links with the communities that they will be serving from these three locations as of April 1.”

The meetings will take place at 6.30 pm on Monday 28 March in Moffat Academy School Hall, then at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 29 March in Lockerbie Academy School Hall.
