Charity walkers thank supporters

FUNDRAISERS Glenn Smith and Gary Baker have revealed they raised £2025 with their Manchester to Lockerbie walk in December.

The pair left Wythenshawe in the North West of England and walked in all conditions to get to Lockerbie in time to pay their respects on December 21, the anniversary of the air disaster.

Unfortunately Glenn had to pull out in Cumbria but Gary completed the walk, by December 21. It was in aid of veterans’ charity Walking With The Wounded, and this week the pair announced their efforts had raised £2025.83 for the good cause, including £139 through a collection bucket.

It was double their original target and they are delighted, saying: “A massive thank you to everyone who helped! It wouldn’t have been possible without you all.”
