Chocs away for party time

WHEN Rosemary Conchie received a box of chocolates for a Christmas present, she never dreamed it would lead to a glitzy party.

Inside the box was a competition coupon and on a whim she decided to enter.

To her huge surprise, she was picked as the winner and last weekend she finally enjoyed her prize – a £5000 party at the Cairndale Hotel courtesy of the Lily O’Brien’s brand.
Her daughter Nicola Dalgliesh, who lives in Lockerbie, said: “Mum had got a box of chocolates for Christmas and in it was a competition, enter this code to win a party and 100 runners up will get a box of chocolates – probably one of those things that no one actually ever does.”
Months later Rosemary, who lives in Dumfries, was shocked to get a phone call saying she won.
Nicola said: “She’d forgotten all about entering it. She was quite taken aback as she’s not really a party person.”
As all the family birthdays and anniversaries were by, she decided to have a ladies’ night for a few close friends and family.
Lily O’Brien’s organised a party planner and even sent mum and daughter vouchers to buy new outfits.
Guests were greeted with Prosecco, then enjoyed a three course meal and the services of a cocktail mixologist, followed by a disco.

Nicola said: “It was a fabulous night with great company, good food and lots of laughs.
“Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and I’m sure everyone will be thinking twice next time they are about to throw competition coupon in the bin.”

Lisa Brown, of Lily O’Brien’s, said: “Chocolate brings people together and punctuates some of life’s biggest events, so we wanted to offer three lucky Lily O’Brien’s fans the chance to win their Ultimate Party,
“We are delighted Rosemary enjoyed her party and we hope she will continue to be a Lily O’Brien’s fan for life.”
