STEP into Christmas in Lockerbie today as the town turns on its lights.
The big switch on takes place this afternoon and the full programme has been revealed by the organisers.
The fun starts at 1 pm with a free lantern making workshop for kids in the town hall. It runs until 3.45 pm when the winners will be chosen then entrants will be invited to parade with their creations down the High Street.
Meanwhile, the High Street will be closed from 12 noon for the set up, with activities starting there at 2 pm and running until 6 pm.
There will be live performances from singers, groups, entertainers, the pipe band and dancers in and around the main stage near the war memorial.
The rest of the street will be taken over by stalls, games and a funfair.
High Street shops, pubs and cafes will be open, with many offering festive refreshments, sweet giveaways and a chance to start your Christmas shopping early.
The 2023 winner of the Bev Farish Community Person Of The Year Award will be revealed on the day and they will be invited to help switch on the lights at 5 pm.
Meanwhile, in partnership with Lockerbie Salvation Army, donations will be welcomed for a festive community foodbank. They should be non-perishable and can be dropped off at at their shop in Station Square on Saturday.
