A CELEBRATORY service was held to mark 30 years of the Lighthouse Church.
And nearly 100 people gathered to give thanks for the ministry of the local church and its service to the community and the region.
There were tributes and uplifting messages from those who have contributed during the three decades, with an afternoon tea to follow.
Over the years the Lighthouse Church has helped start three new congregations in the region, as well as launch many into church ministry,
Sandy Jamieson-Barr, who has served as the minister since starting the church in 1994, said: “It’s been a real privilege to serve the community over the years, to see so many helped and served, from weddings, funerals, baby blessings, to the 1000s of services conducted encouraging those in their faith and commitment to God.”
The church continues to meet every Sunday in the YMCA on Lochside Road, Dumfries at 11 am and all are very welcome.
