Claire's book raises funds for charities

A CHRISTIAN fund-raiser in Annan has launched a new book, timed to mark the birthday of a celebrity American pen friend.

Claire Ollerton’s self-produced book Precious Moments and Miracles mixes prayers and hymns with games, stories and recipes.
Introducing the book, Claire, 72, said: “There’s recipes, and a game in the middle which drives everybody crazy that’s tried it.
“I’ve had 57 people testing it.”
Some of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go towards the purchase of Be-Friending Teddies which Claire provides to the children’s ward at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Money will also go towards Annan charity Kate’s Kitchen as well as Assist News Service International.
And money will also go to help children of the homeless and one parent families in PATH Grammercy Family Centre in Los Angeles.
It was launched by film actress Rhonda Fleming (Carlson), with whom Claire shares regular correspondence.
Claire’s book tells Rhonda’s inspirational account of how she credits God with helping her recover from illness.
And the launch of Claire’s book at The Queensberry Arms Hotel on Wednesday coincided with Rhonda’s 93rd birthday.
Books are on sale for £5, and can be purchased from Claire by phoning 01461 203707.
