The clubhouse was broken into last Wednesday night and over £2500 in cash was taken, as well as £800 in bar stock.

The money was being kept to allow the club to buy in extra drink for today’s Common Riding celebrations.

As their insurance doesn’t cover the stolen money, they have set up a crowdfunder to try and recoup some of it.

And £1800 has already been donated by members of the public.

Organsier Gregor Park said: “We appreciate everything the local community has done for us over the years, but we would appreciate your support now more than ever.

“If the money that was stolen is recovered we will refund all donations!”
