Comedian and actress team up for Moat Brae

TOP children’s author and comedian David Walliams is teaming up with actress Joanna Lumley in support of a Dumfries literacy project.

The duo will stage a special event in London next month to raise money for The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust, which is aiming to create Scotland’s first international centre of children’s literature.
Earlier this month the trust announced it had reached a £5.3 million funding milestone, meaning the once-threatened property in George Street is set to be transformed by 2018.
David Walliams and the charity’s patron Joanna Lumley will appear in conversation, promising a hilarious, interactive morning of tall tales and quirky questions.
The two stars will share their comic chemistry and love of stories with a theatre full of young fans and avid readers of David’s incredibly popular books.
The lucky audience will be treated to a marvellous morning giving a peek into the world of one of the biggest selling children’s authors who has captured the imaginations of a whole new generation and is getting more and more children reading.
The event takes place at Cadogan Hall in London on the morning of Saturday March 19.
