SUGGESTIONS on what Station Park’s pavilion could be repurposed as are being sought by Moffat Community Council.
The council-owned asset had its exterior refurbished earlier this year and now townspeople are being asked what the hut should be used for.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the community council said they want to “get the door unlocked and the cobwebs dusted away in time for summer”, adding that the pavilion currently has no electricity or water supply, but that electricity “is possible in the future”.
Ideas are being put-forward in the comments section of the post and will be discussed at their monthly meeting next week on Tuesday, May 25 – which anyone in the town is invited attend.
Suggestions so far have included a community cafe, ice cream parlour and a space for local groups to hold fundraisers.
All will be reviewed at next week’s meeting and thereafter the “most popular and practical” will be taken to Dumfries and Galloway Council on behalf of the town.
