Company boss in court

THE boss of a Carlisle firm has been accused in court of a breach of Health and Safety regulations which resulted in an employee being severely injured and permanently impaired while working in Dumfries.

Mitchell Liddell was said to be working on the roof of a distribution warehouse at the Dupont premises at Drungans when he fell about seven metres through a void in the roof.
In the court on Tuesday, John Nicol, trading as J, and J. Nicol, Willowholme Industrial Estate, Carlisle, was accused of failing to take sufficient measures to prevent a fall from height while work was taking place in September 2012.
The case has been continued without plea to December 8.
